as Ollivander, the wand-maker from Harry Potter says. More on this later,
Its been a little more than 2 weeks now that we have begun with our respective Team-Projects. Depending on the project, we visit the company, have meetings with the company-folks at the University and work from our group-work rooms, in varying degrees. The lecture halls seem so different suddenly, with no group standing at the front flipping the chart, lol. Instead the group work-rooms are abuzz with intense discussions and research on the various topics.
Besides which, we also had two interesting events by our clubs; MBS TechBusiness Club that hosted its 1st ‘Unconference’ on IT & Automotive’ event and The Entrepreneurship Club that hosted 2 talks on Entrepreneurship. First, an Unconference since its wasn’t a conference. Instead we, as participants engaged in great discussions with leaders in the field of IT and Automotive on topics like the future role of IT and Automotive, social media and the role of innovation in emerging markets w.r.t automotive. Of the Entrepreneurship Club talks, one was held by a partner from a venture capital firm and the other by a pair of entrepreneurs, who made the choice to go it their way. It was indeed inspiring to listen to their stories and made that elusive dream of ‘doing our own thing’ a little bit more real for several in the audience.
And finally, we are all busy with finding our dream-job. Hence its time for Cover-letters, CVs, interviews and all the other things that go with finding the perfect job. And considering that it’s like the end of an era with the last Harry Potter movie, I couldn’t help but correlate Ollivander’s theory to the whole process. I do hope that the perfect job finds its owner too.
